Our hearts are with them.
In a shockingly sad turn of events, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen went home from their days-long stay in the hospital without their baby.

The married couple of seven years announced they were expecting their third child at the end of the singer’s “Wild” music video, which was released on August 13.
The pregnancy was a complete surprise to the pair, who previously had trouble conceiving. They turned to IVF treatments to conceive their four-year-old daughter Luna and two-year-old son Miles.

Tiegen had hard pregnancies before but nothing compared to her third, which had her bedridden since mid-September. On Sunday, September 26, Tiegen was hospitalized due to excessive bleeding from her placenta, which required her to have multiple blood transfusions. On the 28th, Tiegen assured her fans that she and the baby were “completely fine.”
In an Instagram post late Wednesday evening (Sept. 30), Tiegen told her 31.7 million followers that the baby did not make it.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” she wrote along with several black and white photos from the emotional process, including one of her and her husband cradling their baby boy.
The model continued, “We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”
She told Baby Jack, “I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”
The cookbook author noted how happy and blessed she and Legend feel to be parents to Luna and Miles.
“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it,” she said.
Legend retweeted his wife’s tweet on Twitter and said, “We love you, Jack.”
