The Morgan Wallen Foundation Hosts Food Drive To Help Those Affected By Hurricane Helene

People across the United States have stepped up to help those affected by Hurricane Helene—including players from the University of Tennesee Vols baseball team, who volunteered at the Morgan Wallen Foundation’s food drive for hurricane relief.

Wallen was one of the first country artists to raise awareness about Hurricane Helene relief efforts. The “I Had Some Help” singer made a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross through his Morgan Wallen Foundation.

Then, the Foundation unveiled plans to host a food drive to help with hurricane relief. The food drive was held on Wednesday (October 9) from 6 AM-7 PM in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The food drive accepted bottled water, pop-top canned food, and foods that didn’t require cooking, such as protein bars, peanut butter, and crackers.

In addition to hosting the food drive, Wallen is also selling “HELP” T-shirts on his website. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will be donated to Second Harvest of East Tennessee and MANNA FoodBank of Western North Carolina to help with Hurricane Helene relief.

Some of the first people to show up at the food drive were players from the UT Vols baseball team. The Morgan Wallen Foundation thanked the following Vols team members for volunteering and shared photos of them helping with donations.

  • Stone Lawless
  • Tanner Franklin
  • Colby Backus
  • Brooks Wright
  • Ariel Antigua
  • Alex Perry
  • Brennon Seigler
  • Ethan Payne

Wallen also stopped by the food drive later in the day. He took photos, shared some hugs, and spoke to those who showed up to help.

As an East Tennessee native, Wallen is a huge fan of Vols athletics. The singer recently headlined a set of shows at UT’s Neyland Stadium, breaking a 40-year attendance record in the process.

Wallen drew in 156,151 fans for his Neyland Stadium shows. His turnout broke the Jackson 5’s previous record of 148,407 attendees across three shows in 1984.

Wallen brought some special guests onstage for his hometown concerts, including Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, and Eric Church.

The Vols baseball team, which won the College World Series earlier this year, accompanied Wallen onstage at the start of his first Neyland Stadium show on September 20. Watch that moment in the clip below.
