It’s been four months since country music legend Toby Keith passed away, and today (July 8) his family, friends, and fans celebrated what would have been his 63rd birthday.

Toby Keith died on February 5, 2024, following a valiant battle with stomach cancer. For two-and-a-half years the country icon fought the disease, even rallying an impressive comeback just months before his death.

In late September, five months before he passed, Toby delivered his first televised performance since his diagnosis. He took the stage to sing “Don’t Let The Old Man In” at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards where he was also honored with the Country Music Icon Award at the inaugural event.

He returned to the stage again in December for a three-show run at Las Vegas’ Dolby Live at Park MGM. Those shows would be his last.

On the morning of February 6, his team announced that he had died the previous night “surrounded by his family” and “fought his fight with grace and courage.”
