Thomas Rhett & Wife Lauren Announce They Are Expecting Their Fifth Baby
On August 26, 2025 Thomas Rhett and his wife of nearly 13 years, Lauren Akins, shared the big news that they were expecting their fifth child!
The couple share Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3) together.
Thomas and Lauren have shared openly about their path to becoming parents, and adopting Willa Gray was a pivotal and heartfelt moment for them. Thomas has often spoken about the powerful connection he felt when he first saw Lauren with Willa in Uganda — a moment that deeply moved him and helped solidify their decision to adopt.
Thomas often posts about all of his daughters on his Instagram, constantly gushing about the “girl dad” life.
“When me and Lauren talked about having kids, I thought we were going to have like three or four boys, but I think I was meant to be a girl dad,” the country singer said during an interview in 2020. “That’s what we produce—it’s girls! It’s been awesome, though; it’s softened my heart a ton.”
Thomas & Lauren Keep Baby No. 5’s Gender A Surprise!
The couple surprised fans this time around when they shared they would be waiting until birth to find out the gender!
“Due date is in March and we are going to wait until the day of, man, to figure out what the gender is,” Rhett told Taste of Country Nights.
The singer said this is the first time the couple will be waiting until the baby is here to find out.
“It’s terrifying for me, but there’s not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that’s one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to.”
It’s safe to say we are all eagerly waiting to see who baby no. 5 will be!
Appearing on a recent episode of the podcast, That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs, Thomas and Lauren shared this baby may be their biggest yet.
“Today, I’m 32 weeks with a 6-pound baby,” Lauren told host Annie. “My girlfriends are like, ‘I delivered a 6-pound baby at 40 weeks.’”
Thomas shared if the pregnancy carries to the estimated due date, the newborn is expected to weigh around 11 pounds! Lauren joked that she’s considering strapping an 11-pound weight to her husband so he can carry it for a day and get a glimpse of what she’s experiencing.
“I’ve never been more grateful to be a dude. I don’t think I could physically do it,” Thomas laughed.
