This past summer, country star Thomas Rhett and his wife of nearly 13 years, Lauren Akins, announced she is pregnant for the fifth time.

The couple already share four daughters, Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5), and Lillie Carolina (3) together.

Over the years, the country star’s sweet little family have become one of country music’s most beloved crew. Thomas and Lauren’s relationship is admired not only for its longevity but also for the genuine warmth, humor, and support they show each other in public and on social media.

And through life’s ups and downs, the couple has always remained true to one another and their girls. This month, though, has been a “tough” month for the family, Thomas explained.

Thomas shared on his Instagram Wednesday (November 26), that they have lost their beloved family dog, Kona. The news comes just a few weeks after they lost their other pup, Cash.

“It’s been a tough dog month for our family. We lost our little Kona girl. I think after cash passed she just wanted to go be with him,” Thomas wrote.

The singer recalled just how much the dogs have become part of their family, and how deeply they will be missed.

“It’s weird losing a dog, cause whether you know it or not they are just always there, always by your side at the dinner table. They are truly a part of your family,” Thomas shared.
