And then there were five! Congratulations to Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren who welcomed their third daughter, Lennon Love, on February 10th. The new Akins addition weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz.
The proud new momma announced Lennon’s birth in a pair of Instagram posts saying, “Our early Valentine baby was born yesterday, February 10th and her sisters couldn’t be happier to finally get to kiss her little face. Lennon Love Akins ? 9lbs 2oz of lovveeee with lots of dark hair and blue eyes ? we could not be more in love ??.”
The post was accompanied by photos showing Thomas Rhett and Lauren’s other daughters, Willa Gray (4 1/2) and Ada James (2), meeting their new little sister.

Thomas Rhett also shared the news and photos on Instagram, praising his wife and recalling the moment his other daughters met Lennon Love for the first time.
“It was such a joy to watch this little angel be brought into the world. My wife is just incredible through the entire birth…watching our kids meet Lennon for the first time was probably the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in my whole life! Ada James and Willa Gray are going to be the best big sisters on the planet,” the singer wrote. “The Lord is so good and I’m so grateful for my beautiful growing family!! Y’all pray for us as we switch from man on man defense to zone.”

Thomas Rhett and Lauren married in 2012, but didn’t start a family until 2017. Not only did they welcome one child that year, but two! The couple was in the process of adopting a little girl from Uganda when they found out that Lauren was pregnant.
In an interview in June, Thomas Rhett expressed his desire for a large family, saying, “If we stopped having kids now, I know I’d wake up at 45 and go, ‘We should’ve had five more.’ Because I really do want to be able to sit at a Thanksgiving or Christmas table with the most gigantic family on the planet.”
Little Lennon will only be the new Akins kid on the block for another month or so. Thomas Rhett’s father, legendary singer-songwriter Rhett Akins, is also expecting with his wife Sonya. Their baby boy is due in March.
