After being on The Voice from day one, Blake Shelton is leaving the show at the end of Season 23 in 2023. He made the choice to step away so he can spend more time at home with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and her three sons.

Shelton made the announcement about his choice to leave The Voice in the middle of Season 22. That season was successful for him, since he took three contestants to the finale. One of those contestants, country singer Bryce Leatherwood, ended up winning.

Although Season 22 just ended a few days ago, The Voice is already working on Season 23. Since the blind auditions, battles, and knockouts are filmed in advance, the Voice coaches start working long before we see a season’s first episode.

Kelly Clarkson is returning for Season 23 after taking some time off. She and Shelton will be joined by two new coaches, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper.

The Voice just shared its first teaser for Season 23 so fans can get a feeling for the coaches’ dynamic. The clip opens with Horan asking Shelton if he thinks he stands a chance of beating him in his final season. Shelton confidently answers, “No.

Shelton has proven he knows how to win the show, since he’s done so more than any other coach. Adding in his recent win with Leatherwood, he’s won a total of nine times!

As the teaser continues, it shows all of the coaches having a fun time together. Clarkson ends the clip by saying this new season will be “the vets against the newbies.”

On top of sharing the teaser, The Voice also revealed when Season 23 will premiere…March 6. We’re looking forward to it!
