In the video, Dylan honored Anthony by creating a similar atmosphere to when Anthony originally sang the song. With his acoustic guitar, a microphone, and a couple of different camera angles, Dylan sang the song with a thick wooded forest in the backdrop, just like Oliver Anthony did. In fact, the only thing missing was a couple of dogs running around in the background.

Dylan’s rendition of “Rich Men North of Richmond” was nothing short of its own masterpiece. He took the song’s lyrics and breathed new life into them, using his own unique style and tone of voice. Check him out below, singing the highly popular song.

Dylan Carter’s Journey on The Voice

Dylan Carter’s journey on The Voice has seen some emotional and heartwarming moments. His tribute to his late mother with Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You” left both the audience and the coaches in tears. The performance earned him a four-chair turn and made all four of the judges teary-eyed, especially Reba McEntire.

Reba, visibly moved by Dylan’s audition, couldn’t hold back her tears as she praised his ability to use his emotions to connect with the audience.

“I saw it, I felt it, and I heard it when you were singing,” she said. “That’s the kind of songs that do that to me too. I saw you get so emotionally involved, and that’s when you know you’ve got a great song and a great singer when it touches your heart.”

Dylan’s performance was equally touching for the other judges, including Legend, who described it as a “moving” tribute. In the end, Dylan followed his instincts and chose to join Team Reba, saying he would be a comforting and nurturing figure he could learn from.

“Something told me to go with Reba. She could be a comforting mom figure for me,” Carter said. “She’d welcome me in, make me feel confident and show me how to use my voice.”
