Another Voice season has come to an end with the crowning of a new champion!
Tuesday night marked the second night of The Voice Season 28 finale. The two-hour show, marketed as a “Holiday Spectacular,” featured performances from the finalists and their coach, as well as guest performances. Country star Riley Green, Zac Brown & Noah Cyrus, Neal Schon, founding member of Journey, and his band, and The Voice Season 26 winner, Sofronio Vasquez, were among those who helped celebrate the big night.

But the highlight of the episode was the reveal of this season’s winner. The six finalists took the stage during Monday night’s episode to sing for America’s votes. Voting began at the end of the episode, and viewers cast votes throughout the night.
Tuesday’s episode was more celebratory than competitive, commemorating the journeys of each of the finalists and their coaches. In keeping with the season, the artists performed Christmas tunes to keep the spirit light.
Coach Reba performed twice. She sang ” Mary, Did You Know?” with her lone finalist, Aubrey Nicole. She took the stage once again to perform “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” with Team Niall’s trio, DEK of Hearts.
Michael Buble also sang twice – once with each of his finalists. Jazz McKenzie joined him for “Jingle Bell Rock” and Max Chambers teamed up with Buble for “Blue Christmas.”
Snoop joined his finalist, Ralph Edwards, for “This Christmas.” Niall Horan was the only coach who didn’t perform. Instead, Team Niall Season 23 champion, Gina Miles, joined Niall’s second finalist, Aiden Ross, to sing “Last Christmas.”
Why didn’t Niall Horan sing during The Voice finale? During the finale pre-show, Niall revealed that he had been sick and was under the doctor’s orders not to sing. He told the audience that he was feeling better and was sad that he couldn’t sing with his finalists.
How The Finalists Were Chosen
Unlike previous seasons, viewers only had a say in filling two of the six finalist spots. The Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, and Playoff rounds were pre-recorded. At the end of the Playoffs, which concluded last week, each coach chose one artist to represent their team in the finale.
The other two finalists were chosen by viewer vote. The contestants not chosen by their coaches were left in limbo as they waited to see if they garnered enough support to carry them on to the final round.
Each of the coaches appeared to use some strategy in their decision, appearing to choose the not-so-obvious finalist in hopes that America would come through with their votes and send a top contender through.
Four of the finalists were revealed on the air at the end of their respective Playoff rounds. The other two were announced at the beginning of Monday’s finale episode.
Meet The Finalists
The following four finalists were chosen by their coaches:
Aubrey Nicole of Team Reba
Jazz McKenzie of Team Buble
Ralph Edwards of Team Snoop
Aiden Ross of Team Niall
The finalists chosen by America’s votes are: Team Buble’s Max Chambers and DEK of Hearts from Team Niall.
Each of the Top 6 took the stage on Monday night to perform twice. Their first song was a classic, and their second was a more modern tune.

If Michael Buble wins, this will be the third consecutive win for the crooner and his team. He won Season 26 with Sofronio Vasquez and Season 27 with Adam David. He will also become only the second coach in Voice history to win three consecutive titles. Blake Shelton accomplished the same feat with wins on seasons 2 (Jermaine Paul), 3 (Cassadee Pope), and 4 (Danielle Bradbery).
If Reba McEntire wins, it will mark the second win for the country singer who previously took home the title with Asher HaVon on Season 25.
A Niall Horan win would be the third for the former One Direction singer. Horan won seasons 23 and 24 with Gina Miles and Huntley, respectively. It would also give Niall a perfect winning record as a coach. Every season he has coaches so far has resulted in a win for his team.
Snoop Dogg has coached two Voice seasons and has yet to see a win. If his team takes home the trophy, it will no doubt be an emotional moment for the proud coach.
A New Voice Winner Is Crowned
After weeks of intense competition, emotional eliminations, and dramatic saves, a new Voice winner has been named.
At the end of Tuesday’s episode, host Carson Daly revealed the winner by announcing the finalists’ placements in reverse order. The results are as follows:
6th place: Jazz McKenzie
5th place: Max Chambers
4th place: Aubrey Nicole
3rd place: DEK of Hearts
2nd place: Ralph Edwards
And the winner of Season 28 of The Voice is…..
AIDEN ROSS!

Congratulations to Aiden Ross and his coach, Niall Horan, on a well-deserved win!
