Tanner Frick, a contestant on Season 26 of The Voice, has suddenly left the show.
The Monday, November 11th episode of The Voice was the first episode of the Knockout Round. All the contestants still competing had either won their Battle Round, been the one save their coach made, or had been stolen from another coach.
This year, three singers from each team would be going up against each other in the Knockout Round. They all get their moment to shine on stage, singing a solo, but instead of just one person going home, two people would be eliminated.
Team Snoop Dogg kicked off the episode, followed by Team Reba and Team Gwen. Finally, it was Team Bublé’s turn to take the stage. While announcing the Team Bublé performers, host Carson Daly revealed that Tanner Frick had left the competition “after rehearsals” and that this Knockout Round would be just between Cameron Wright and Sloane Simon.
A reason for Frick’s exit was not revealed.
Who is Tanner Frick?
Tanner Frick is a country singer who auditioned for The Voice with an incredible cover of Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know.” All four coaches turned for Frick, and they each fought so hard for him to be on their team. Here is what they said:
“Tanner, I thought you sang really, really well. I love that song. When you did that Chris Stapleton growl, it just added so much dimension to your voice.” – Reba McEntire
“From the start, you had such a calm, pretty way of explaining the story of the song. What won everybody over is your uniqueness came through.” – Gwen Stefani
“I love country music…you represent part of the greatest gift that America has ever given to the arts, and so I want to be part of that.” – Michael Bublé
In the end, he chose to join Team Reba!
During the Battle Round, Frick was paired with Tate Renner and they performed Jelly Roll’s “Need A Favor.” In the end, Reba chose Renner to continue, but Frick was stolen by Bublé.
Speaking about why he chose to steal Frick, Bublé said, “Tanner Frick was a huge win for me. That’s a former four-chair turn and a piece of the puzzle that I didn’t have. I needed that country singer and now I feel like I’m completely in the game. It’s a brave new world we’re about to head into.”
