Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are celebrating a major milestone in life— 36 amazing years of marriage together.

Their journey together started back in 1981 on the set of the TV show “Bosom Buddies.” However, during this time, Hanks was already married to his first wife, Samantha Lewes. It wasn’t until 1987 that their marriage officially ended in divorce.

Hanks and Wilson’s paths crossed again during the filming of “Volunteers” in 1985, sparking a romantic connection that would change their lives forever. They made their first public appearance together in 1986 at the premiere of “The Three Amigos,” and two years later, they exchanged vows, according to PEOPLE. The couple eventually had two children together, sons Chester “Chet,” 33, and Truman, 28.

Behind the scenes, they have teamed up to produce popular films and TV shows through their company, Playtone. Some of their most famous productions include HBO’s “Big Love,” the “Mamma Mia!” franchise, and the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” series, ET reports.
