According to the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, they will be introducing a new cookie called the Adventurefuls cookie and it will be joining the nationwide lineup for 2022.
“Available nationwide, every bite of Adventurefuls is full of indulgent brownie-inspired flavor with a combination of chocolatey and caramel flavors, and smooth and crispy textures, for an incredible taste of adventure in every bite,” the Girl Scouts said in a news release.
The association says the timing and cookie availability may vary depending on the area but Girl Scouts season starts nationally in January and goes through April, so everyone will have a chance to get their hands on an Adventurefuls cookie.
The organization has also introduced new Cookie Business badges that “help girls think like entrepreneurs as they run their own cookie businesses and incorporate online sales via the Digital Cookie platform.”
In addition to the brownie-flavored Adventurefuls cookie, you can expect other flavors in the line-up like Thin Mints, Samoas, and a French toast-inspired cookie called “Toast-Yay!”
Since the start of the Girl Scouts, the cookies have been sold in booths outside grocery stores, door-to-door in local neighborhoods, and to friends and family.
However, in March 2020, Girl Scouts suspended door-to-door sales and in-person cookie booths due to the pandemic lockdowns. Everything went solely to online sales and in 2021 they had “virtual cookie booths” on social media where many of the cookies were sold.
For 2022 the delivery system has been taken it up a notch. Wing, a subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. are scheduled to help deliver some of the cookies by drone. The Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline say this will help boost cookie sales.
