Henry the Amazon parrot had friends in tears as his hysterical voice blew Jimmy Buffett‘s hit “Margaritaville” out of the water!
Casually wandering around the top of his cage, Henry soon broke into an impromptu performance of the song’s catchy chorus, clearly singing, “Wasted away again in Margaritaville.” After taking a brief pause, the feathery entertainer jumped right back into his solo as he continued singing, “Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt.”
Henry hit a bit of a wall towards the end of his performance, perhaps eager to forget his current cover and start a new one. However, his owner was eager for the bird to finish his song, briefly singing along with him to jumpstart his memory.
With a strong finish, the bird had viewers in tears as he ended his performance by singing, “But I know, it’s my own damn fault.”
People have been singing Buffett’s intoxicating – no pun intended – song since its release in 1977, and he’s been performing it live ever since, too! As of late, he enjoys bringing up surprise celebrity guests to help him sing it, including Miranda Lambert and football star JJ Watt!
“Margaritaville,” as well as Buffett’s laid-back, island lifestyle, inspired a Broadway musical, as well as a senior living community!
It’s no surprise that a parrot learned the words “Margaritaville,” seeing as Buffett’s fans are called “Parrotheads!”
