All eyes were on Shania Twain as she walked the red carpet prior to Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.
Shania Twain was on-hand at the 65th Grammy Awards to present the Best Country Album award. We’ve seen her donning different hair colors in recent months, something she said she’s “having fun” with. But, she took her look to a new level my pairing a fiery red wig with a white pant suit and hat covered in large black dots.
In a red carpet interview the 57-year-old shared that she opted for red hair because she knew she was going to be wearing black and white.
“I wanted to have a cheerful happy color,” Twain told PEOPLE. “I wanted to wear real diamonds…just wanted to spoil myself.”
Shania Twain donned a similar look as she took the stage to announce the Best Country Album award.
Shania, a five-time Grammy winner, received a warm welcome as she walked on stage in a black mini suit dress, a bow tie and cape. Her look was completed with black knee-high stockings and black & white heels. Her bright red lipstick matched her hair that had been pulled into a braid.

Fans had plenty to say about Shania’s Grammys look, with some comparing her to Madonna and Britney Spears. But, Twain has made it clear in recent interviews that she is more confident in herself than ever.
“I wake up every day in the last few years really feeling a freedom I haven’t felt before,” she said. “And that is coming with acceptance that I cannot slow. For example…that I cannot slow the process of aging. That is out of my control, so I need to start enjoying aging and enjoying all that comes with that.”
That freedom led to Twain feeling confident enough to pose in her birthday suit for the cover of her 2022 album, “Waking Up Dreaming.” Even though Shania Twain has never been afraid to push the envelope when it comes to fashion, her latest bold looks are likely a result of her new-found freedom.
“It had to be vulnerable where I felt that I was facing a fear of being judged or being maybe even laughed at, being embarrassed, but it was only empowering. It was really fabulous,” Shania said.
