Shania Twain is praying for Celine Dion’s recovery from her ongoing health issues.
During a recent interview with Billboard, Shania offered some encouraging words to the fellow singer who revealed her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome last December (2022).
Shania said, “I am such a fan of Celine’s voice. She’s a one-of-a-kind, extraordinary vocalist and entertainer.”
Shania Twain speaks for anyone who has heard the incredible talent of Celine Dion. She has one of the best voices in the music industry, and has made waves since she first stepped on the scene in 1988.
Shania continued, “I hope to be able to connect with her at some point. I think it’s gotta be so difficult, and I know — only speaking from my experience — how horrifying it is to think that something is preventing you from singing, or interfering with that joy in your life. So I just pray that she is able to overcome it and she will be up there [on stage] singing for us all again.”

Dion announced in May that she had to cancel her shows after previously postponing them.
She said she was “unable to successfully prepare for and perform the remainder” of her tour after her diagnosis.
The singer eventually posted on her Twitter, “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again… and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything until I’m really ready to be back on stage… I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”

Celine’s health condition, stiff-person syndrome, is a rare, incurable neurological disease that can cause debilitating muscle spasms. Celine shared that she has been dealing with these health issues for a long time.
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through. I always give 100 percent when I do my shows, but my condition is not allowing me to do that right now.”
Twain revealed that her 1998 single, “From This Moment,” was a song she had intended to give Dion originally.
“I wrote that with her in mind, and I really wanted her — my wish was that I would write it and she would record it. It would have been such an honor, but my husband and producer at the time was like, ‘No, this really needs to be on your record.’ And I’m so grateful that I did record it.”
