Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 24. They named their son Merrick “Avery” McCreery after Gabi’s father, who is also named Merrick.
“Never known a love like this…Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am!” Scotty and Gabi shared in a message alongside some of Avery’s first photos. “7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love…Thank yall for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God.”

Avery turned one week old on Halloween (October 31). Gabi shared a photo of their little family’s Halloween outfits.
Scotty and Gabi dressed Avery up in an adorable Jack-o’-lantern onesie with orange and white stripes. They matched their son by wearing bright orange t-shirts with Jack-o’-lantern faces printed on the front.
“One week with our little pumpkin,” Gabi captioned the image. She explained that their dog, Moose, still isn’t too sure about his baby brother. “Moose is still a little spooked by the newest family addition,” she said.
