Ryan Coleman Joins Team Dan + Shay

In the latest episode of The Voice, Pennsylvania native Ryan Coleman bravely stepped onto the stage, ready to prove his talent to the world. The singer, who says he sings primarily country but tries to cater his voice to other genres, chose Bill Withers’ classic “Ain’t No Sunshine” as his song of choice, adding his own unique country twist to the beloved track.

As Ryan’s performance of the song unfolded, tension grew among the coaches, wondering who would make a move by turning their chairs. Ultimately, it was the duo Dan + Shay who took the chance, swiveling their chairs just moments before the song ended.

Shay Mooney couldn’t help but praise Coleman’s unique tone, which stood out and grabbed everyone’s attention. He expressed excitement about working together, eager to uncover more of Coleman’s artistic flair.

“I absolutely loved your tone,” Mooney said. “Your voice has an identity and that’s what we’ve been listening for all day.”

He continued, “I can’t wait to find out more about who you are and bring out a little bit more of that identity of your voice. It’s just phenomenal.”

Dan Smyers welcomed Coleman to their team, impressed by his performance and already brainstorming songs that could utilize Coleman’s voice, noting the country vibe he felt throughout. Smyers also recognized the tough conditions contestants face on The Voice stage, acknowledging the loud environment and the absence of in-ear monitors for the singers.

“I loved the performance, man. I know this is a tough scenario to sing in. It’s very loud, I don’t think you guys have in-ear monitors in. But, man, that whole performance I was just sitting back there, thinking about all the different songs that you could sing to showcase that voice, and I was hearing a lot of country in that too.”
