Robert Irwin Wins Dancing With The Stars
10 years ago in 2015, Bindi Irwin competed on – and won- Dancing With The Stars. Now, her younger brother Robert is taking home his very own mirror ball trophy!
Partnered with professional dancer Witney Carson, Robert quickly became a fan favorite, impressing the judges week after week—an especially remarkable achievement given that he joined Dancing with the Stars with no previous dance experience.
After topping the leaderboard on premiere night, Robert remained a steady presence near the top of the rankings, earning accolades for both his growing skill and his undeniable charisma on the dance floor.
Robert found himself battling a rib injury going into the DWTS finale. But he powered through to deliver three spectacular dances, earning a combined score of 89 out of 90.
On Tuesday (November 25), Alfonso Ribeiro revealed that Robert and Witney were the champions of the season!
The entire Irwin family even temporarily moved to Los Angeles to cheer him on each week. Bindi, her husband Chandler Powell, their daughter Grace, and Robert and Bindi’s mother Terri Irwin became familiar faces in the ballroom audience, proudly supporting Robert’s journey every step of the way.
Terri even joined him on October 14th for his “Dedication Night” performance, where he delivered a heartfelt contemporary routine to Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be In My Heart.”
The moment Robert and Witney were announced as the winners, Bindi burst onto the dance floor, unable to contain her excitement. She headed straight for Robert, weaving through the confetti and chaos until she reached him.
Bindi also uploaded two photos of the pair holding Mirrorball trophies.
“TWO MIRRORBALLS NOW CALL AUSTRALIA ZOO HOME!!!! Congratulations and all the love in the world to @robertirwinphotography and @witneycarson. What. A. Night,” Bindi wrote.
The two have now made history as the only pair of celebrity siblings to win Dancing with the Stars.

Robert’s DWTS Experience Has “Changed His Life”
After his big win, Robert shared what this entire experience has meant to him.
“To follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me,” Robert reportedly told PEOPLE backstage. “This has absolutely changed my life.”
He also expressed his gratitude for Witney, and the lifelong friendship the two have made.
“I’m just so grateful that I was here on this journey with Witney. You’ve got me forever,” he said. “Witney pours her heart and soul into this, and I’m just so happy that we are here.”
Robert told PEOPLE that witnessing his sister win all those years back was especially meaningful, as it provided an opportunity to further promote the Irwin family’s conservation initiatives, including Australia Zoo and their charitable organization, Wildlife Warriors.
“It’s about making the world a better place. And when I watched her lift that Mirrorball, I saw her lifting that message,” Robert recalled.
