Dancing With The Stars Hosts A Prince-Themed Night And Reveals Its Five Finalists
Robert Irwin is a finalist on Dancing with the Stars!
While that’s a fairly upfront spoiler, consider this your warning to stop reading if you don’t want to know the other results.
The DWTS semi-finals aired on Tuesday (November 18). Each of the six remaining competitors performed two dances.
Since the evening was themed around Prince, all of the dances were performed to his music. Robert and his professional partner, Witney Carson, danced a jive to “Baby I’m a Star,” which earned a lot of praise from the judges.
Carrie Ann Inaba said, “That was insane! So clean. So sharp. So bouyant. So fun. So amazing!“
Meanwhile, Bruno Tonioli said it was “a superstar jive.”

Robert and Witney earned perfect 10s from all three judges for their jive. Additionally, their other dance, a Viennese Waltz set to Prince’s “WOW,” earned a 10, 9, and 10, bringing their total score for the evening to 59.
Robert’s score, combined with fans’ votes, resulted in him being named one of the five finalists at the end of the night! See the other finalists below:
- Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten
- Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy
- Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach
- Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt and partner Mark Ballas were eliminated from the competition.
Robert Irwin Shares Grateful Reaction On Social Media After Becoming A Finalist On Dancing With The Stars
After the show, Robert Irwin reacted to being named a finalist on DWTS. He shared his grateful reaction on social media, thanking his fans and Witney.
“I had the most fun EVER tonight! I cannot believe we made it into the finale,” he wrote. Robert continued, “I want to say thank you to ALL of you for your support – and to my teacher and best bud in this whole experience @witneycarson. She’s always got my back and she creates something new and exciting every week! We’ll see you in the FINALE!”
If Robert wins during the finale on November 26, he won’t be the only dancing champion in his family. Previously, his big sister, Bindi, won Season 21 of DWTS with Derek Hough.
Bindi, her husband Chandler, and their daughter, Grace, temporarily moved from Australia to support Robert in Los Angeles during his run on the show. Robert and Bindi’s mother, Terri, has also been a fixture in the audience.
The week before the semi-finals, Robert performed an emotional dance inspired by one of Bindi’s routines and dedicated it to their late father, Steve. Bindi joined him and Witney near the end of the dance, making the moment extra meaningful. Watch that dance below.
Congratulations to Robert and all of the other finalists on this season of Dancing with the Stars!
