Robert Irwin, the only son of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, found himself facing a situation eerily similar to one his father encountered years before him.
The 19-year-old wildlife warrior shared a video on Wednesday that left fans astounded and a little worried. It was a throwback footage of Robert’s father Steve getting bitten in the face by a python snake. And, believe it or not, history repeated itself as Robert had a close encounter with the exact same snake species, with rather painful consequences.
With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Robert compared the footage of his dad’s courageous encounter to his own recent escapade. In an attempt to rescue a carpet python from the side of the road, Robert found himself on the receiving end of a series of bites on his eyebrow and nose.
Taking to social media, he shared the videos and captioned them, “Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart. I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan 😂.”

Fans of the Irwin family were both captivated and concerned as they watched the clips. Robert, true to his Irwin lineage, showed remarkable composure as he explained, “I got a little too close, so he gave me a bite. They’ve got extremely sharp teeth like little needles.”
