Who Is Country Singer Tucker Wetmore?
Tucker Wetmore got the opportunity to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime performance at the 2025 CMA Awards.
Born on November 5, 1999, in Kalama, Washington, Wetmore developed an early appreciation for Jerry Lee Lewis’ music. Inspired by that, he taught himself to play piano at a young age.
However, Wetmore didn’t pursue a music career immediately. He studied business and information technology at Montana Technological University, where he also played football.
But after an injury brought his football career to an early end, Wetmore returned to music. He moved to Nashville in 2020.
Wetmore signed with Back Blocks Music in 2023 and subsequently inked an additional deal with UMG Nashville. His debut single, “Wine into Whiskey,” dropped in February 2024 and peaked at #16 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Wetmore’s popularity skyrocketed with the release of his second single, “Wind Up Missin’ You.” The song went viral on TikTok in late 2023, leading Wetmore to release it as a single in March 2024.
The track soared up the charts, eventually peaking at #6 on the Hot Country Songs chart and #2 on the Country Airplay chart. It has since been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA, marking the sale of over two million units.
“Wind Up Missin’ You” also helped catapult Wetmore’s debut album, What Not To, to #4 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Undoubtedly, the success of “Wind Up Missin’ You” contributed to Wetmore receiving his first CMA Award nomination. He was nominated for New Artist of the Year alongside Ella Langley, Shaboozey, Zach Top, and Stephen Wilson Jr.
Wetmore also performed during the 2025 CMA Awards, which aired live on ABC on November 19. As expected, he used his performance slot to share “Wind Up Missin’ You” with the world.
Wetmore performed near the end of the ceremony. Dressed in all black, he took a seat on a stool at center stage as he delivered the first few lines of his hit song.
As the performance continued, Wetmore rose and worked the stage, drawing the audience into his performance. It was surely a memorable moment for them and him!
