Irish country singer Ben Troy took social media by storm with his incredibly angelic performance of Keith Whitley‘s moving ballad “Don’t Close Your Eyes.”
Just 15 years old at the time, Troy was a stunning example of youthful talent as his remarkable voice carried a deep range of emotion, skill, and pure star potential.
Accompanying his song with an equally-impressive music video, this young man occupies a variety of quaint rooms as he moves through each verse with unbelievable ease.
Troy’s voice was nothing short of heavenly as he sang, “Don’t close your eyes, let it be me/ Don’t pretend it’s him, in some fantasy/ Darling just once, let yesterday go/ And you’ll find more love than you’ll ever know/ Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight/ And don’t close your eyes.”
While this enchanting tune was a soaring success for Whitley upon its 1988 release on his album similarly titled Don’t Close Your Eyes, it seems Troy found immense success with his mesmerizing performance, too.
