Ree Drummond Sings Hymns To Her Adorable Grandbaby
The “Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond recently shared a special moment she had with her granddaughter Sofia.
Ree’s daughter, Alex, welcomed her first child in December, making her and her husband, Ladd, grandparents for the first time.
As she often does with life’s special moments, Ree shared the news on her blog, along with a sweet photo of herself holding baby Sofia in her arms.
Sofia is now 7 months old, and Ree is loving every moment of being a grandmother. She’s shared many memories over the past few months, and most recently, she wrote to her readers about a moment she had with her husband and little Sofia during church.
It all started when Sofia got a little restless during the church service, so Alex handed her over to Ree.
“During church, Sofia was a little fussy. So of course I gave Alex the look. It’s a simple, plaintive expression that basically conveys “Hand that baby to me NOW, I am her grandma and I need her on my lap,” Ree wrote in a blog post.
And while it worked for a little while, Sofia started getting irritable again. That’s when Ree and her husband began softly singing the hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
“Immediately, Sofia seemed to relax and come along for the ride,” said Ree, explaining she was harmonizing while Ladd sang the melody.
“But it wasn’t my expert (heh heh) harmonizing that calmed Sofia down,” she continued. “It was Ladd, aka Pa-Pa. She locked in and listened to him sing and bought us a good four minutes of utter contentment. New baby trick unlocked!”
Ree shared a couple of photos from that day, and they couldn’t be more adorable!

The Drummond Family Releases New Docuseries
Ree Drummond has always shared pieces of her life on her blog, but now the family is opening up even more with their new YouTube docuseries Drummond Ranch.
The show gives a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day work on the family ranch, which is run by Ree’s husband, his brother Tim, and the rest of their crew. Their daughter Paige has also joined the team full-time.
Unlike her previous show, Ree takes more of a supporting role in this series.
