The “Pioneer Woman” Is Going To Be A First-Time Grandma
“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond just revealed the name of her first grandchild, who’s due to arrive around New Year’s Day.
Ree and her husband Ladd’s eldest daughter, Alex, and her husband, Mauricio Scott, announced their pregnancy in June. They later revealed that they are expecting a baby girl.

“Oh my gosh. Alex is pregnant!” Ree wrote in a blog post after Alex and Mauricio shared their news. “My first baby is having her first baby. My child is going to have a child. It’s surreal, and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of momentarily leaving your body after hearing upon hearing similar news.“
The Drummond family had more happy news to share in August. Ree and Ladd’s second-oldest child, daughter Paige, got engaged to her boyfriend David Andersen. Now, the Drummonds will welcome a new baby and have a wedding in the same year!
Ree Drummond Reveals Her First Grandchild’s Name And Shares Photos From Alex’s Baby Shower
But before she fully plans her wedding, Paige helped plan a baby shower for her big sister Alex. Paige and some of Alex’s friends threw her a whimsical baby shower with lots of pink and floral decorations.
In addition to sharing pictures from the shower, Ree revealed the name of her first grandchild. A photo in her Instagram carousel shows a photo with a napkin that reads “Baby Sofia.”
“My daughter is having a daughter,” Ree captioned the adorable pictures. “Her sister and friends hosted the sweetest baby shower this weekend, and I teared up a few times (in between tea sandwiches and Dr Peppers!) It’s all gone by so fast. Doesn’t seem possible! I’m so happy for Alex!“

Alex also shared the name of her and Mauricio’s daughter in her own post about the baby shower. She revealed her middle name as well, writing:
“Yesterday was everything I could ever dream of celebrating our Sofia Marie…Praise the Lord for these wonderful women and so many more!“

Based on the pictures Ree and Alex posted, Alex received several gifts with baby Sofia’s initials embroidered on them, including a tiny denim jacket.
