The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond and her husband, Ladd, are finally on a much-needed vacation following a rocky start to the year.

In early 2021, Ree and Ladd had to postpone their romantic getaway to Colorado after Ladd was involved in a near-fatal accident. The ranch owner was in a head-on collision and fractured his neck in two places. According to Ree’s blog, Ladd refused medical treatment on the accident site and drove himself to the hospital. Once admitted, he was transferred for surgery to repair one of the fractures.

Ladd wore a neck brace for several weeks, including on his daughter’s wedding day. Fortunately, Ladd is now free from the supportive casting, and Ree could not wait to share pictures of the two picking up where they left off. On Instagram, Ree beamed:
“Last time Ladd and I tried to go to Colorado together, there was this really bad accident involving a fire truck and we didn’t make it. So my answer to the question “How happy are you to be in Colorado with your husband right now?’ would most definitely be this: Happy. So very, very, extremely, through-the-roof, over the moon happy.”
