Reba McEntire Steps Up To Fill Blake Shelton’s Red Chair On The Voice

Longtime Voice coach Blake Shelton has retired from the show. Fans wondered who The Voice would find to replace him, since he’s served as the one constant “country” coach from its inception.

The Voice found a perfect person for the job…Reba McEntire! She previously served as Team Blake’s advisor on Season 1, and was the Mega Mentor for Season 23.

McEntire signed on to coach Season 24 of The Voice (which debuts on September 25) and has already agreed to coach Season 25 as well. The latter season won’t premiere until 2024.

How Does Reba Feel About Filling Blake’s Shoes On The Voice?

There’s a lot of pressure on McEntire as she prepares to step into Shelton’s shoes on The Voice. On top of being on the show for 23 seasons, Shelton also has the most wins…with a total of nine.

Shelton previously shared his own feelings about McEntire replacing him on The Voice. He said:

“...she’s so authentic. I mean, I don’t know anybody countrier on the planet than Reba. And that’s just the truth. But the other thing is her talent, and she was born with this raw, natural talent that is just unbelievable.”

“Nobody can replace Blake Shelton. He’s a huge personality and a wonderful person…I’m just getting in there trying to have fun and represent country music as best I can.”
