Reba McEntire and Rex Linn aren’t in any rush to say “I do.”
In September, it was confirmed that Reba McEntire and her longtime boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, were engaged during a red carpet interview before the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Ever since then, fans have been eager to see the two officially tie the knot and learn every detail about their big day.
But, Reba and Rex don’t seem to be in any hurry.
In fact, their main goal right now is to live in the moment and focus on their careers. During a recent interview with PEOPLE, they shared what their wedding planning looks like so far.
“We’re totally enjoying being engaged,” Reba said, admitting that she and Rex haven’t set a date just yet. “Work comes first, so we’ll see.”
The two definitely have a lot on their plates right now. Reba and Rex both star together in the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place, which just started its second season.
The “Fancy” singer is also balancing that with her role as a coach on the current season of The Voice.

However, when the time does come, they already know they want to keep their wedding ceremony simple.
“We’re very low-key,” Reba said. “We’ll have friends and family and have a great time.”
“We’re in the fun [phase],” she added. “We love each other, respect each other, love to hang out. We’re best friends. It’s perfect. I’m really grateful God kept him for the last.”

It’s really no surprise that Reba and Rex aren’t rushing to get married. They’ve always taken things slow in their relationship.
The two had known each other for nearly two decades before anything romantic developed between them.
They first met in 1991 on the set of The Gambler and stayed in touch over the years. It wasn’t until 2020, when they reunited to film Young Sheldon, that they officially began dating.
They were also determined to take their time before sharing their engagement with the public. Although the news came out just two months ago, Rex actually proposed on Christmas Eve last year.
They decided to keep it private after the Los Angeles wildfires happened shortly afterward.
“We were going to make the announcement when we got back to L.A. in January, and the fires happened. It wasn’t appropriate,” Reba told PEOPLE in October.
She added that “the time never presented itself until the Emmys when it just happened.”
