Reba McEntire is undoubtedly a busy woman when it comes to her career. From being a coach on The Voice and starring in and executive producing her new sitcom Happy’s Place, to managing a music career that has solidified her as a country music legend, she seems unstoppable.
However, Reba admits that one thing still makes her nervous, even after all these years.
Reba’s Sitcom Success
Reba’s new sitcom, Happy’s Place, has proven to be an instant hit since its premiere on October 18.
The show features Reba as Bobbie, a determined woman who takes over her late father’s tavern after his passing. The story turns unexpectedly when Bobbie discovers she has a younger half-sister who is now her new business partner.
The pilot episode attracted over 4 million viewers when it aired live on NBC, making it the fifth most-watched primetime telecast that evening.
The actual viewership numbers are even more impressive. The premiere eventually reached over 10 million cross-platform viewers after becoming available for streaming.
Reba Reveals The One Thing That Makes Her Nervous
In an interview with Glamour, Reba opened up about the whirlwind experience filming her new show.
“It’s been fast and furious to say the least over the last six months doing The Voice and the sitcom at the same time,” she said.
“I’m getting into a rhythm, but then a bunch of us got COVID, so it knocked our schedule back on the sitcom,” she added. “We had to do two episodes last week, which was tough on everybody. But we did it. I was so proud of everybody.”

After managing so many responsibilities, Reba looks like a pro at everything she takes on. However, like everyone else, she still experiences nervousness from time to time.
“The only time I do get nervous is when I’m not prepared,” the “I Can’t” singer reveals.
“If I don’t know my song or my material, then that gives me anxiety. But Rex is a stickler on rehearsal, so we rehearse in the morning when he and I have our coffee. And before we go to sleep at night, we’re running lines. We’re big sticklers on being prepared. And if you’re prepared, you can play with the scene.”
It’s definitely a bonus that Reba’s boyfriend of five years, Rex Linn, understands the fast-paced world of show business. Even better, the couple is working together on Happy’s Place, where Rex plays Emmett, a cook at the tavern and a main cast member on the show.
Happy’s Place will air new episodes every Friday on NBC.
