Reba McEntire Remembers “Kind Soul” Kris Kristofferson In Tender Tribute

An outpouring of love and tributes has come from close friends and colleagues of Kris Kristofferson after the news of his passing.

On September 28, Kris Kristofferson passed away at the age of 88 at his home in Maui, Hawaii. His family confirmed the news of the legendary country singer’s death in a statement on social media.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home,” the statement read. “We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.”

Kris Kristofferson was a music icon and the brilliant mind behind hit songs like “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.” In addition to his remarkable music career, he was also a successful Hollywood actor, known for his roles in films such as the Blade trilogy, Convoy, and A Star Is Born.

With his contributions to the music and film industries, it’s no surprise that many are paying tribute to him and the legacy he left behind. Fellow musicians and close friends of Kristofferson have taken time to share their condolences and love for him after his passing, including his former co-star Barbra Streisand, George Strait, Dolly Parton, and more.

Reba McEntire Remembers Kris Kristofferson as a “Kind Soul”

One of the touching tributes to Kristofferson came from Reba McEntire, who posted a photo on her Instagram of the two of them on stage together a few years ago, reflecting on the kind of person he was. She captioned the photo: 

“What a gentleman, kind soul, and a lover of words. I am so glad I got to meet him and be around him. One of my favorite people. Rest in peace, Kris.”

McEntire has long admired Kristofferson’s music and considered him a friend in the industry. In 2016, the “I Can’t” singer participated in a tribute show called “The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson” in Nashville in honor of his work. McEntire performed his iconic song “Me and Bobby McGee” and even had Kristofferson join her on stage to sing it as a duet.

Kris Kristofferson is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lisa Meyers, and his eight children.
