The Voice semi-final elimination show featured a performance by the one and only Reba McEntire

Country music royalty Reba McEntire is nearing the end of her second consecutive season as a coach on NBC’s hit reality singing show The Voice.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, eight aspiring singers remained in the semi-final round, hoping to advance to the finals. By the end of the show, that pool would be cut down to five.

Reba McEntire showed why she is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry with a dramatic “Consider Me Gone” performance to kick off the high-stakes night.

Songwriters Steve Diamond and Marv Green crafted “Consider Me Gone.” Reba recorded the song in 2009 and released it on her thirty-third studio album, Keep On Loving You. It became her 24th and longest-running number-one single after spending four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

“Consider Me Gone” has since been certified platinum by the RIAA, signifying more than one million units sold.

Reba stuns with performance of “Consider Me Gone” on The Voice

At the start of the show, Reba McEntire took a break from her coaching duties to inspire the Voice contestants with a performance of “Consider Me Gone.”

The stage was transformed to appear as though Reba was perched on a boat dock on a foggy night.

The rendition of her hit song was slightly softer and more melancholy than the original. It showcased her ability to captivate an audience like only a seasoned professional can.
