RaeLynn Lambastes Body Shamers For Leaving Rude Comments

RaeLynn is fed up with body shamers.

On September 1, the country singer and former Voice star shared a passionate video on social media. In it, she called out those who’ve been body-shaming her in the comments of her posts.

To illustrate just how aggravating body-shaming can be, RaeLynn included screenshots of two comments. One shamed her for being “too skinny.” Another went in the opposite direction, asking, “Is there another baby bump growing?

RaeLynn put the body shamers on blast, saying those types of comments have to stop.

“I’ll never understand women commenting on other women’s weight,” she said. “Sorry, I just woke up, and then I saw comments on my Instagram, and I just want to address what has been addressed. First off, [I’m] not pregnant. Second off, ‘too skinny.’ That’s none of your damn business.”

RaeLynn said she’s at a “normal” weight for her height (5’1″). She also reminded everyone that she has Type 1 diabetes, which she’s been incredibly open about in the past. The singer said she’s changed her diet “tremendously” to help her manage her diabetes.

RaeLynn also detailed her busy lifestyle as a performer and mom to her daughter, Daisy. “I chase around an almost 4-year-old. I’m on tour, which means I move around a lot. I am constantly traveling. I’m constantly active,” she said.

From there, RaeLynn shared what “irritates” her the most about body shamers.

…you don’t know what other people are going through. And you don’t know what a comment can do. Thank God I know who I am in Jesus…and I have a pretty thick skin. I know what I signed up for, but even people like me who have super thick skin…it still hurts.”

When she sees body-shaming comments, RaeLynn thinks of young girls who could “make really stupid decisions” after seeing messages like that.

And that’s what hurts me,” RaeLyn said. “I don’t care. I know I’ve been taking care of myself and I don’t owe anybody anything, but we need to do better on the internet. Because you never know what somebody’s walking through.”
