Ree Drummond Explains Her Secret To Making Perfect & Tasty “Peppermint Bark” For Christmas

If you’re in search of a quick and easy recipe to make for a holiday gathering, Ree Drummond has the perfect recommendation for you!

The “Pioneer Woman” shared a video showcasing her “shortcut” for making “peppermint bark.” While the treat she makes isn’t peppermint bark in the traditional sense, it still delivers the same flavors.

Ree’s recipe only requires a few ingredients: chocolate sandwich cookies with mint filling, crushed peppermints, peppermint extract, and almond bark (or white chocolate). And since it’s so simple, Ree says it’s the perfect project to work on with your kids.

Here’s How To Make The Pioneer Woman’s Christmas Peppermint Bark

First, you melt the almond bark and add a little bit of peppermint extract to it. Second, dip the cookies in the melted almond bark with a fork, making sure to completely coat the cookies in the process. Then, tap the cookies to shake the excess almond bark off of them.

After that, place the cookies on a rack on top of a cookie sheet so the rest of the almond bark can drip off. You finish the cookies by sprinkling the tops with the crushed peppermints.

Ree showcased her peppermint bark shortcut in a video she filmed while on set for the 2021 holiday movie Candy Coated Christmas. She starred in the movie as the bakery owner, so she made these cookies to use in her bakery’s display case!
