There’s no doubt about it – legendary actor Sam Elliott has aged incredibly well. Some would even say he’s more attractive these days than he was back in the 60s or 70s! At 74 years old, Elliott hit the big screen again on October 5 in a brand-new remake of the classic film A Star Is Born.

Because of his recent movie, we are seeing more and more of him in the media, which made us think about his long career and how he’s been a making ladies swoon since his start in show business in 1969!

Let’s take a look back at some of his most swoon-worthy pictures throughout the years.

A fresh-faced Elliott stole hearts since the very beginning with his first headshot.

This promotional photo was taken during Elliott’s time playing Doug Roberts on the television series Mission: Impossible from 1970-1971.

Elliott starred as Rick in the flick Lifeguard, who must make an incredibly tough decision between his carefree beach bum lifestyle and a more polished, professional job after falling back in love with his high school sweetheart after 15 years apart.

We’ll let you guess why lots of ladies loved this role for Elliot!

Elliott starred in the 1978 film The Legacy with his future wife, Katharine Ross. Though she did co-star in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which was his 1969 film debut, they did not meet until filming The Legacy.

They have been married since 1984.

Elliott and his fellow mustachioed friend Tom Selleck co-starred in a number of TV Western movies, the first being The Sacketts, an adaptation of the popular Louis L’amour novel.

This is how we love Elliott best – wearing a hat and bandana!

Fun fact: The two actors both appeared in and episode of the 1969 show Lancer, but had no scenes together.

By the time he starred in Mask with co-star Cher in 1985, Elliott had started to go grey, but in a swoon-worthy way, of course! His salt and pepper look made him even more desirable to his female fans!

Early 1990s

In the early 1990s, Elliott fully embraced his grey-ing hair, even growing it out long and tying it back in a ponytail for certain occasions. You can tell his wife certainly likes this look!

Elliott joined the Marvel Comics world in 2003 when he played General Thunderbolt Ross in 2003’s Hulk alongside Eric Bana and Jennifer Connolly. Because he played a United States military officer, he had a traditional military haircut, short mustache and all.

Even though this look is a tad different than what we’re used to from him, we still love it!

In 2007, Elliott played a Texan aeronaut names Lee Scoresby who befriends main character Lyra in the film The Golden Compass. His likeness from this film was even created into a doll!

Audiences everywhere were thrilled when Elliott signed on to star in the Netflix series The Ranch, which gave him hilarious one-liners, and of course – another chance for us to marvel at his good looks!

Elliott’s latest press tour for A Star Is Born clearly proves that the 74-year-old ages like a fine wine!

We aren’t sure when the photo below was taken, but a short-haired, mustache-free Elliot cuddling his beloved wife was not something we could just skip while making this list!

Those wrinkles by his smile are enough to make you weak in the knees!
