Parker McCollum Welcomes First Child, A Baby Boy, With Wife Hallie
Congratulations are in order for country singer Parker McCollum and his wife, Hallie, because they just welcomed a baby boy!
Parker and Hallie married on March 28, 2022. The couple had been together for years prior, and Hallie inspired Parker’s 2020 song, “Hallie Ray Light,” which is her full name.

The couple shared their pregnancy news in February of this year. They shared a joint post on Instagram with a picture of Hallie cradling her baby bump on the beach while they shared a kiss.
“God’’ little blessing. We Iove you so much already, Baby M!” they wrote in the caption.

Not long after sharing their initial announcement, Parker and Hallie revealed they were expecting a baby boy.
The Couple’s Son Was Born On August 8
Parker and Hallie kept fans updated throughout Hallie’s pregnancy. On August 5, Parker shared a post on Instagram that made it clear Baby McCollum was coming soon.
“Minnesota & Wisconsin were electric this past weekend. They were also the last two shows I’ll ever play before I’m a dad. I’ve got two weeks off to welcome little man into the world this week and I am so grateful to God for a healthy Hallie Ray, a healthy baby, the best fans in the world, the best band and crew in the world and the best friends and family ever. Going to enjoy this much needed time off and HAVE A FREAKING KID. 48 hours till I’m forever known as dad. Love yall! See you soon!” he said.

Parker and Hallie welcomed their baby boy just three days later, on August 8. They waited to share the happy news until the following day (August 9).
The couple shared a sweet series of photos of them and their son, including several at home with their dog, Ruger. The caption was simple, and included their son’s name and birthdate, “Major Yancey Tyler McCollum 8/8/24,” along with three blue heart emojis.
Parker and Hallie revealed their son’s name before his birth. The singer shared on The Spencer Graves Show that he got the idea for Major’s first name after watching old footage of Texas Longhorns quarterback Major Applewhite.
Parker, who’s from Texas, said, “I was watching Rose Bowl highlights and I saw Major Applewhite, and I was like ‘D—. Major McColllum would be sick.'”
As for his son’s middle name, Parker said “Yancey” was all Hallie’s idea.
Parker is one of several country artists who have welcomed a new baby this year. Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Jon Pardi, and Lady A’s Dave Haywood all added to their families in 2024.
