The Yellowstone spinoff 1883 has broken streaming records, with 4.9 million people tuning into the premiere episode on Paramount Network in December, which according to The Hollywood Reporter, is “the biggest launch for a new cable series in years.”

It was also the #1 most-watched series premiere on a streaming site.

Due to its success, Paramount+ has made a decision on the future of the show, which stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, the great-grandparents of Yellowstone‘s John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner.

1883 follows James, Margaret, and their children Elsa and John as they trek across the country with foreigners. Other stars of the show include Sam Elliott, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett and Dawn Olivieri. Billy Bob Thornton, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and creator Taylor Sheridan have all made cameos.

Nine episodes were initially ordered of the series, but on Tuesday (Feb. 15), Paramount+ announced they ordered more, but didn’t specify how many. We do not know if this means they added more episodes to this season, or if there will be a second season.

Additionally, the network announced several new shows created by Sheridan, including another Yellowstone prequel series, titled 1932. According the Sheridan himself, 1932 will follow the Dutton kids we already met in 1883, as they raise the next generation of Duttons.
