A statement issued to Country Rebel from Milligan’s publicist confirmed the cause of the collision and the current status of the singer and his crew.
“This afternoon, Drake Milligan’s manager and label Stoney Creek confirm that Milligan and band were in a collision yesterday [April 16], while traveling between Fort Worth and Georgetown, TX. Between the hours of 9:00am and 10:00am/CT, Milligan and team were in route to Two Step Inn, when a tire flew into their van causing it to collide into the concrete median. Milligan and several members of his band sustained injuries that were treated at the hospital. All have since been released. Milligan will resume his tour schedule next week on April 28th, when he returns to the desert for a performance on the main stage at Stagecoach Music Festival.”
Milligan first found fame when he portrayed Elvis Presley in the 2017 CMT TV series Sun Records, an adaptation of the Tony-winning musical Million Dollar Quartet.
Drake appeared in the 17th season of America’s Got Talent where he ultimately finished in 3rd place. The year prior, Milligan auditioned for American Idol by singing George Strait’s “You Look So Good In Love.” He withdrew from the competition even though he earned a Golden Ticket to Hollywood.
