A young boy’s dreams came true when he was invited to meet Morgan Wallen during a recent concert.
On August 1, Wallen brought his One Night at a Time tour to Kansas City, performing at Arrowhead Stadium for two consecutive nights. On top of a packed schedule of collaborations and guest appearances that weekend, Wallen also made a little boy’s ultimate wish come true.
During his time in Missouri, Wallen partnered with the Make-A-Wish foundation to give Owen, an 8-year-old boy born with a heart condition, an unforgettable experience.
According to a statement provided to Country Now, Owen suffers from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a condition present at birth where the left side of the heart is extremely underdeveloped, as per the Mayo Clinic. Throughout his childhood, he has undergone three heart surgeries: one at birth, one at six months old, and another at two years old.
In July, Owen and his family discovered his Make-A-Wish would soon happen. His mother, Alexis, shared his reaction on Facebook, capturing Owen’s excitement as he looked at the confirmation email.
When the concert finally arrived, Owen not only attended the show, but he was also given the opportunity to go backstage to meet and hang out with Wallen.
While spending time with his country superstar idol, Owen and Wallen connected over their mutual interests, including baseball, dirt biking and music before taking a few photos together to remember the special moment.
Later that night, Wallen even gave Owen a shout-out on stage, as requested by Owen himself, before performing his hit song “Last Night.”
“I met with a little boy who has been going through a super hard time in life lately, right before the show,” Wallen told the stadium full of concertgoers. “I told him I would shout him out at some point during the show so I’m going to do that right now. His name is Owen and hopefully he’s still here.”
Alexis posted a video on TikTok capturing Wallen giving her son the shout-out, and it was clear that Owen was over the moon about it.

She later put out a statement, thanking everyone who came together to make Owen’s night as unforgettable as it was.
“Morgan was such a great guy. Owen and Morgan clicked so easily and I’m very grateful for Morgan Wallen and Make-A-Wish for giving my son this experience. He deserves this!”
