Kenny Law Of Moonshiners Fame Has Died
Moonshiners star Kenny Law recently passed away at the age of 68.
Kenny joined Moonshiners in Season 8 and became a beloved member of the cast. IMDB credits him with appearing in 54 episodes from 2019 to 2025. His last appearance before his death was in the episode “Respect Your Elderberries,” which aired on January 7, 2025.
Kenny and his cousin, Henry Law, operated their own distillery, Law’s Choice Disterllery, in Virginia. Their family has been in the business for over 60 years.
“Henry and Kenny have had one another’s back since before they can remember. When prosecutors handed Kenny the choice to rat out fellow moonshiners or go to prison, Kenny took the same path as his cousin, Henry, honoring the code of silence and opting for years in federal prison,” reads Kenny’s biography in a slideshow introducing the cast of Season 11.
Fans were devastated when the Moonshiners Facebook page shared on Thursday (January 16) that Kenny had passed away. The show’s statement read:
“We’re deeply saddened about Kenny Law’s passing. He was a treasured member of our Moonshiners community since season eight. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Shine on, Kenny.“
Henry Law spoke with TMZ about his cousin’s passing. He said Kenny died in a local hospital on Tuesday (January 14) after battling a series of health issues for years.
Kenny had diabetes and heart troubles, and he suffered a heart attack in 2024. Those problems, combined with a recent blood infection, resulted in Kenny spending the last few weeks in the hospital before his death.
Fans fondly remembered Kenny and shared their condolences for his loved ones. Some of the comments on Moonshiners‘ post were:
“I am so sorry to hear this. I really loved Kenny on the Moonshiners.”
“Rip Kenny hope the shine meets your expectations.”
“Prayers for the entire Law family and friends. He was a brilliant moonshine always to help the younger generations to understand the craft.”
“My Condolences to Henry and Family. RIP Kenny, SHINE ON!”
“Henry and Kenny were top of our favorite Moonshiner list. Kenny was mostly silent but when he talked you could tell how smart he was. Sympathies to his loved ones.”
“Condolences to his family and friends, enjoyed watching him on the show.”
The news of Kenny’s death comes nearly four years after another Moonshiners cast member passed away. Lance Waldroup, who appeared in over 50 episodes of Moonshiners, died on February 25, 2021 at the age of 30.
