Sadie Robertson Named Her Baby After Her Mamaw Kay
Duck Dynasty‘s Sadie Robertson Huff recently welcomed her third child with husband, Christian Huff. After the Season One finale of Duck Dynasty: The Revival aired, which featured Sadie and Christian’s gender reveal, Sadie announced the birth of their daughter.
“and while we are having a reveal party…Meet Kit Carroway Huff :),” the reality star wrote announcing Baby Kit’s arrival.
Fans will remember that Sadie’s middle name is also Carroway, getting her middle name from her grandmother, Kay, whose maiden name is Carroway.
How Did Miss Kay React When She Found Out Sadie Named Her Baby After Her?
Sadie’s younger sister, Bella, appeared on the Duck Call Room Podcast on August 14, and revealed a hilarious story about when Kay found out the baby was going to be named after her.
Bella tells the hosts John-David, Uncle Si, and Martin, “So, Sadie is Sadie Carroway after Mamaaw Kay who was Kay Carroway. Sadie is Sadie Carroway, and actually I think Merris, Reed’s daughter is Merris Carroway too.”
Bella is correct. Reed, who is Kay’s son Jase’s eldest son, named his first child Merris Carroway Robertson.
Bella continued, “Well, Sadie wanted to go tell Mamaw Kay that she was naming Kit, Kit Carroway after her. Sadie told her, ‘I want to tell you something. We’re gonna name Kit after you, Kit Carroway.’ And Mamaw Kay said, ‘Oh my gosh! No one has ever done that for me before!’”
Si, John-David, and Martin all erupted in laughter realizing that Kay forgot she had a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter already named after her!
“That is the most Kay thing,” Martin said through laughter, while Si admitted that he was actually there for this interaction and can confirm that it happened. Watch Bella talk about the hysterical moment below.
