Note to self: Miranda Lambert wants the undivided attention of fans attending her concerts. Miranda made this clear when she stopped mid-song to call out some fans who were more concerned about taking selfies than appreciating the music.
Miranda Lambert was performing at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas when it all went down. The singer had just kicked off an acoustic rendition of her 2016 hit “Tin Man” when she abruptly stopped, apologized to her band then turned her attention to some girls near the stage.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit,” Miranda said. “I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country d*** music.”
The crowd cheered as Lambert put a stop to the girls’ selfie taking before starting the song over.

Fans online had mixed reactions to the incident with some saying it seemed mean-spirited and others wondering how a true fan could possibly want to do anything than soak up the moment.
“Phones are allowed, they paid to see her, maybe don’t embarrass them. I like Miranda, but this just seems mean spirited, even if that wasn’t her intention,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another wrote, “I love Miranda but I can’t get behind this. You can’t embarrass and be so mean to people who paid that kinda money to come see you for taking pictures. If she called me out like that I’d never spend money on her again.”
But, there were also fans who questioned the self-taking girls’ commitment to Miranda, saying that a true fan would listen to the show and take pictures later.
Miranda Lambert‘s Saturday night encounter with fans wasn’t the first time she’s called someone in the audience out.
In 2017, Lambert was preparing for her Highway Vagabond Tour with a gig at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. While singing “Tin Man” Lambert stopped to call out some fans who were talking loudly.
“I hear talking. I’m like literally out here with my diary for y’all to read. So I don’t want any talking. Sorry,” she said. The crowd immediately quieted and allowed Miranda to finish her song. See that moment unfold in the video below.
