Nominees for the 58th CMA Awards were announced on Monday, September 9.

Once again, the 2024 CMA Awards will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. While the host and performance lineup have yet to be announced, all of the nominees have been revealed.

The competition is tough this year, with Morgan Wallen being the most nominated of the night with seven nods. Chris Stapleton and Cody Johnson are close behind, each earning five of their own. However, one of the night’s biggest awards, Entertainer of the Year, features an especially fierce lineup of artists.

Miranda Lambert Shares Who She Wants to See Win Entertainer of the Year

Miranda Lambert is one of the biggest winners in CMA history, with 14 awards to her name and six nominations in the Entertainer of the Year category. So, it’s obvious she knows a lot about what it takes to succeed at the CMAs. When it comes to this year’s Entertainer of the Year, Lambert has a clear idea of who she thinks truly deserves the honor.

“Gosh, you know, I have to say Morgan [Wallen], because he is out there slaying,” she told Taste of Country Nights in a recent appearance. “You play for that many people in a weekend … like that is a huge deal.”

She continued, “I respect him as an artist. He is really authentic to who he is. He’s playing for stadiums full of people, for multiple nights. That’s entertainment, you know?”

Wallen has not won a CMA Award since 2020, when he was named New Artist of the Year. However, he has been making headlines with his One Night At A Time World Tour, setting records along the way. Not only has he been performing in front of thousands of fans at sold-out shows, but his July 4th performance at London’s Hyde Park drew 50,000 attendees, setting a record for the highest attendance at a country concert ever in the United Kingdom.

Fans can watch the 2024 CMA Awards on November 20, live on ABC at 8/7c and stream it the next day on Hulu.
