Miranda Lambert may be one of the biggest stars in country music now, but she might not have reached that point without the advice she received from the legendary Loretta Lynn.
Miranda Lambert shares the life-changing advice that Loretta Lynn once gave.
During an appearance on The Great Creators Podcast, Miranda Lambert discussed her success in the country music industry and what helped her reach that point. The three-time Grammy Award winner is one of the most awarded musicians in the genre, but it took a lot of hard work to get there.
Notably, it was Loretta Lynn who provided Lambert with the push she needed to achieve her current level of success.
“Loretta Lynn said if you don’t go live your life you’re not going to have anything to write about, and so I’ve done it,” Lambert said. “When I started going on the road and having boyfriends and playing shows all over the country I started really writing from my own perspective a lot.”
“But I think that’s the draw of country music, especially if it’s truth,” she continued. “I mean it’s crying in your beer and your dog died and your wife left you and that’s what it is. So I feel like I always wanted to be a truth-teller, a storyteller, but stories that were of the truth, good, bad, and ugly, and some of that you had to live, which wasn’t the fun part.”

And Lambert has kept the advice she received from the “Coal Miner’s Daughter” close to her heart over the years, which is proven in her latest album release, Postcards from Texas.
Postcards from Texas marks Lambert’s ninth studio album, and all 14 tracks pay homage to her homeland that shaped her into the artist she is today.

Miranda Lambert’s success is undeniable, and because of that, she has been announced as this year’s recipient of the Icon Award at the People’s Choice Country Awards.
The award show announced the news back in August, stating that Lambert will receive the award for her “authentic, female-forward brand of country” and her “groundbreaking” career, according to a press release.
