Melissa Peterman And Reba McEntire Have Had A Close Friendship For Many Years
Melissa Peterman is celebrating her longtime co-star and real-life friend, Reba McEntire, on her birthday.
The two have known each other for over 20 years. They first worked together in the early 2000s on the sitcom Reba, where Peterman played Barbara Jean Hart and McEntire played Reba Hart.
Even to this day, the dynamic between their characters has made them one of the most memorable co-star duos.
This is exactly why fans were thrilled when it was announced that they would be reuniting on the new sitcom Happy’s Place.
The show follows Reba’s character, Bobbie, who inherits her father’s tavern, called Happy’s Place, after he passes. But to her surprise, while reviewing his will, she discovers she has a half-sister she never knew about. Together, they must learn to run the business while also getting to know each other.
Peterman portrays Gabby, a bartender at the tavern and Bobbie’s good friend.
But their bond isn’t just for the television screen. Peterman and McEntire are also real-life best friends.

Melissa Peterman Wishes Reba McEntire A Happy Birthday With A Throwback Photo
Even though years passed between their projects, Peterman and McEntire stayed close and spent plenty of time together off-screen.
“We’ve never really left each other. I mean, the show ended, and we’ve been friends ever since,” Peterman once said during a panel at the Television Critics Association.
So when McEntire’s birthday came around, Peterman made sure to celebrate her. On March 28, the “I’m a Survivor” singer turned 70, and Peterman marked the occasion with a special birthday shoutout.
She shared a throwback photo from their time on the Reba set. In the photo, Peterman and McEntire are joined by their other co-star JoAnna Garcia Swisher, with all three of them holding birthday cakes.
“Tomorrow is Reba’s Birthday. So throwing it back to that time on set we all got a Birthday cake,” Peterman wrote. “I don’t remember why but if I’ve learned anything in my 30 years, don’t ask questions when someone gives you a cake.”
