Reba McEntire And Rex Linn Recently Got Engaged
In September, while walking the red carpet for the Primetime Emmy Awards, country legend Reba McEntire and her longtime boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, revealed that they were engaged.
Of course, fans were absolutely thrilled when the news broke. Many had been hoping for this moment for quite a while.
Reba and Rex have been together for over five years and have known each other for more than three decades. They first met in 1991 on the set of The Gambler.
They even star alongside each other in the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place. For those who don’t know, Reba plays Bobbie, who inherits her late father’s pub. Rex portrays Emmett, the pub’s line cook.
Melissa Peterman Talks About Reba & Rex’s Engagement
One friend of the couple who can’t stop gushing about their engagement is Happy’s Place co-star Melissa Peterman.
During a recent appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, Sherri, Peterman shared how excited she was for them.
“I am beyond thrilled for her,” Peterman said. “I’ve known her for 20 plus some years and watching her with Rex.. she’s truly herself with him. They’re so in love.”
When asked if she gave Rex her official “friend stamp of approval,” Peterman revealed that she had actually been there the night sparks flew between Reba and Rex.
She explained that they, along with a few others, had met in Los Angeles for a dinner to discuss joining the cast of Young Sheldon. By the end of the night, their friendship had begun to grow into something more.
Reba and Rex haven’t shared any wedding details publicly yet, but with Peterman being such a close friend, could we possibly see her by Reba’s side as a bridesmaid?
Well, according to her, she actually hopes to be the live entertainment of the night. She said that she wants to sing at the wedding, even though her singing skills aren’t quite up to par.
“What I lack in pitch… I bring volume and commitment to it,” she joked.
Peterman added that she thinks it would just be cool to be able to tell people that she sang at the Reba McEntire’s wedding.

Happy’s Place Drops New Trailer For Season 2
It’s likely that wedding planning won’t be happening right away for Reba and Rex, especially with how busy they are at the moment.
Not only is Reba currently a coach for Season 28 of The Voice, but the Season 2 premiere of Happy’s Place is coming up soon!
The sitcom will return on November 7, and the show has been teasing what fans can look forward to in the new episodes. A brand new trailer dropped not long ago, showing what’s in store for the season.
In the one-minute clip, it looks like viewers can expect just as many laughs and antics from the cast as they saw in the first season. There’s even a hint of a possible romance between Reba’s character and Rex’s… but we will have to wait and see!
