Every year, the White House is extravagantly decorated for Christmas. The project is always helmed by The First Lady and this year, Melania Trump delivered.

Previous themes she has chosen during her time as First Lady include “Time-Honored Traditions” in 2017, which featured glass ornaments with the seal of every state and territory. In 2018, she chose “American Treasures” as the theme, which was inspired by “American heritage and patriotism, and featured iconic landscapes and cityscapes.”

Her “The Spirit of America” theme in 2019 featured handmade flower ornaments representing every state and territory in the United States.

The First Lady unveiled the theme for 2020 on her official Facebook page, writing, “During this special time of the year, I am delighted to share ‘America the Beautiful’ and pay tribute to the majesty of our great Nation. Together, we celebrate this land we are all proud to call home.

As she walked through the halls of The White House, we were shown the beautifully decorated trees with words like “Faith” and “Love” written on the presents underneath the trees. Each room she walked in seem to take on a different spin of the theme. The main tree in the Blue Room was adorned with ornaments that were decorated by children all over the country.

She also featured artwork that was submitted to her “Building the Movement Exhibit: America’s Youth Celebrate 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage.”
