Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood’s Husband, Is A Former NHL Star
Carrie Underwood‘s husband of nearly 15 years, Mike Fisher, recently joined her in Washington, D.C. for Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Carrie delivered an a cappella rendition of “America the Beautiful” during Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. Technical difficulties prevented her recorded musical track from playing, prompting Carrie to sing without music.
Mike was photographed with Carrie at the ceremony and other inaugural events. The couple was accompanied by their oldest son, Isaiah.

Mike Fisher was born on June 5, 1980, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. He grew up playing hockey and demonstrated remarkable talent at a young age.
Mike was drafted by the Ottawa Senators during the second round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He played with the Senators for several years until he was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2011. He became a team captain in 2016 and led the Predators to the Stanley Cup finals the following year, though they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Mike announced his retirement from the NHL in August 2017. But his retirement was short-lived, and he played for the Predators for one more season. He officially retired on May 12, 2018.
How Did Carrie Underwood And Mike Fisher Meet?
As PEOPLE details, Carrie and Mike met in 2008 after Carrie’s bass player, Mark Childers, set them up. The two hit it off and bonded over their shared love for their Christian faith.
The couple married on July 10, 2010, during a stunning ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton resort on Lake Oconee in Georgia.

Carrie and Mike welcomed their first son, Isaiah, on February 27, 2015. Their second son, Jacob, arrived on January 21, 2019.
The couple rarely shares pictures of their kids online. Although, the boys have joined them for a few events, as Isaiah did for Trump’s inauguration. Isaiah even recorded a rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy” with Carrie for her 2020 Christmas album, My Gift.
What Does Mike Fisher Do Now?
Since retiring from the NHL, Carrie Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, has kept busy with his hunting lifestyle brand. Called Catchin’ Deers, Mike co-founded the company with his brother Bud Fisher and Austin Casselman.
The brand’s website states that it aims to produce “quality apparel that lives and breathes the hunting lifestyle.”
Mike also supports Carrie at her concerts and can often be seen by her side at awards shows such as the Grammys and the CMA Awards.
