Maggie Wheeler and Matthew Perry portrayed the on-again-off-again relationship between Janice and Chandler over the first four seasons of Friends.
America is mourning the death of Matthew Perry, the beloved star of the television sitcom Friends, after news of his death on October 28th. Perry was 54 years old and was found unresponsive at his Los Angeles home.
Maggie Wheeler, who played one of Perry’s on-screen love interests, Janice, posted an endearing photo of the two to Instagram on Sunday. The actress wrote:
“What a loss. The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”

Wheeler’s character Janice was infamous for her unpleasant and nasally voice and trademark cry of “OH MY GOD!” Paired with the quick wit and often bleak humor of Perry’s character Chandler, this coupling made for endless laughs.
The core cast members have yet to respond publicly to news of Matthew Perry’s death.
Friends followed the lives of six twenty-to-thirty-somethings living in New York City as they navigated love, career, friendship, and more. The show’s relatable characters and witty, timeless humor made the show a huge hit, and even though the last episode aired in 2004, the show is still widely streamed to this day.
Alongside Perry, the core six characters were played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer. Many have noted that no statements have been made as of yet by these cast members, but some supporters have encouraged fans to be patient as each person grieves in their own time.
A Showbiz correspondent told GB News on Monday morning that the stars are set to release a joint statement in the coming days.
