8 Seconds & Beverly Hills, 90210 Star Luke Perry Died In 2019 At The Age Of 52

Luke Perry, beloved for his roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 and the 8 Seconds film about the late bull rider Lane Frost, died on March 4, 2019. He was only 52 years old.

His death devastated his family, friends, fans, and former co-stars. Shannen Doherty, who played his love interest on Beverly Hills, 90210, made a special appearance on the CW series Riverdale to pay tribute to Perry. He was playing a character on the show at the time of his death.

Watching this scene hits harder now following Doherty’s own death on July 13, 2024 at the age of 53.

Now, five years after his death, another one of Perry’s co-stars says she still receives “messages” from the actor.

Jennie Garth Says She Sees Luke In Her Dreams

Jennie Garth also starred in Beverly Hills, 90210 with Luke Perry and played another one of his love interests. She recently launched a new clothing line, ME by Jennie Garth, which includes a jacket named after Dylan McKay, who was Perry’s character on Beverly Hills, 90210.

When Parade asked Garth about the jacket, she confirmed it’s a tribute to Perry. She also shared that she often sees her former co-star in her dreams:

The woo woo part is that I kept getting very clear messages from Luke and from his energy,” Garth said. “I really believe in all that stuff… He would be in my dreams and he would just be standing there and he would be smiling and he would give me the vibe, the energy, the thought, that ‘Keep going. You’re doing great. Keep doing what you’re doing.’ I have goosebumps every time I talk about this. How can you not listen to somebody when they come through and give you messages? And so the jacket, it’s called the Dylan denim jacket. It’s named after him and that’s why.”

When asked to share her favorite memory with Perry, Garth said:

There’s no possible way I could pick one. We loved to laugh together and to poke, push each other’s buttons, just for the fun of it. And those were my favorite moments when we are just sort of lovingly harassing one another.
