Luke Combs Shares Design Of Tumbler That Will Benefit Woman Who Was Ordered To Pay Him $250K After Making & Selling Her Own Tumblers On Amazon

Nicol Harness is a huge fan of Luke Combs. Because of this, she was inspired to create tumblers that featured his logo and likeness.

Harness sold these tumblers on her Amazon store, where she sells other tumblers and t-shirts. She told News Channel 8 she only sold 18 Luke Combs tumblers for $20 each, resulting in $380 worth of sales.

The Florida native has congestive heart failure, and was in the hospital when she received an email from Combs’ attorney. The email indicated that she was being sued for selling the tumblers, since she was using Combs’ likeness without permission or authorization. She was given 21 days to respond to the suit.

Harness didn’t see the email, and only discovered it after Amazon froze her store account. 21 days had passed, and a judge ruled against her, declaring that Harness owed Combs $250,000.

It’s very stressful. I don’t have money to pay my bills,” she said.” I just want this resolved — I didn’t mean any harm to Luke Combs.”

The lawsuit was filed in Illinois. While most states require notification of a lawsuit to be delivered in person, Illinois is one that allows notification by email.

Luke Responds To The Lawsuit, Says He Was “Completely And Utterly Unaware Of This”

It didn’t take long for Combs to respond to news of the lawsuit, which truly was news to him. He said he was “completely and utterly unaware” that the suit had been filed against Harness.

Combs confirmed that his team does go after large corporations that make millions by selling counterfeit merchandise. But Combs says, “Apparently, this woman Nicol has somehow gotten wrapped into that, and that makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.”

The country star dropped the lawsuit. Additionally, he generously offered to pay Harness $11,000, which was double the amount in her Amazon store account when it was shut down.

This is not something I would ever do, this is not the kind of person I am,” Combs said. “I’m not greedy in any way, shape or form. Money is the last thing on my mind, I promise you guys that. And I invited Nicol and her family out to a show this year, so I could give her a hug and say sorry in person.”
