Luke Bryan Had To Take Some Unexpected Time Off After Battling An Illness
Luke Bryan is thanking everyone who supported him while he recovered from serious vocal issues.
Bryan has had to cancel several shows in recent weeks after dealing with vocal issues. It all started during a concert in Arkansas that didn’t go as planned.
Throughout the show, his voice kept cutting in and out, and he wasn’t able to perform at the level fans are used to seeing. Bryan addressed the problem with the crowd and later refunded tickets for the entire audience.
“I’m gonna get real with y’all. This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life,” Bryan said to the arena full of fans. “I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason, and it happens every time.
“I saw Luke Combs do this a couple years ago when he was having a weird night on stage,” he continued. “And I said, ‘You know what, that’s pretty cool.’ So I don’t give a damn, I’m going to refund everybody their tickets tonight.”

Not long after the Arkansas show, the “Play it Again” singer had to cancel a few upcoming performances. He was originally scheduled to headline three major festivals: Country Stampede, NebraskaLand Days, and Country Jam.
Bryan shared the news in a statement posted to his social media, where he also let fans know that his friend Eric Church would be filling in for him.

After taking some time to rest, Luke Bryan is back on stage and performing again.
Bryan officially returned to the stage on Thursday, July 10, with a show in Toronto as part of his Country Song Came On Tour.
But a couple of days before the concert, he shared a video message with fans, thanking them for their support while he took time to recover. He also gave a shout-out to Eric Church for performing in his place when he wasn’t able to.
“What’s up y’all… Hope everybody had a great 4th and I wanted to thank everybody for all the well wishes for the last few shows that I had to postpone and obviously cancel,” he said. “I want to thank my buddy Eric Church for stepping in and helping out with me.”
He continued, “It really, really gets frustrating getting sick like that and losing my voice and having to take a couple weekends off. But thank you guys for supporting me. I love y’all, and we’ll see y’all in the shows to come.”
His next concert is tonight, Friday, July 11, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He will continue his tour throughout the summer, with dates scheduled through mid-September.
